Lube New Clutch Cable?

 I'm replacing the clutch cable on my 76 shovelhead and wondering if I should lube the new cable or not and what cable lube do you all use for routine maintenance.

If the new cable is not teflon lined, I would prelube it. My choice in lube is TriFlow, with a drop or two of 3 in 1 oil on top of it.
Don't forget to clean and lube the handle as well.
