"If you buy a Corbin product don't expect good customer service, it sucks!

I purchased a Corbin Widowmaker to use with 2008 my Rocker C last October and was unable to use it until this spring. After using it one day I found that the seat had caused damage to my fender. I sent an email off to Corbin regarding it and was told that the seat had been retooled because of this problem. When I first asked them to fix it all they did was apologize for the damage and said they would send me a new seat once the they received my old one.

It is now over one month later and I do not have the new seat and the only time I hear from them is when I send an email asking for action on my seat and fender. After calling and sending emails several times with no response for about a month I was told that three people including Mike Corbin had looked at the pictures of the damage and this was their response:

"I checked into this for you and showed your pics to our production manager as well as Mike himself. We can repair the fender for you in-house. If you would like to keep the fender until a suitable time is available, we will repair it for you. We cannot issue any forms of payment or remittance for work done outside of our premises. We can make arrangements to have your fender picked up on our dime if need be."

Now I live in Minnesota and they are in California so I would be without the use of my motorcycle for over three to four weeks because of their poorly designed seat. My wife is also not able to ride with me because of their poor service, inefficient means of repair, and lack of a customer centered approach.

If you are interested in the correspondence between me and the company, please feel free to contact me, because their responses and analogies used were really poor. I would caution anyone buying a product from Corbin and can not recommend their product to anyone.""

the guy who wrote this has a custom rocker c and what it did to the rear fender is all the way down to the metal and he's worried about it rusting.

I'll never buy a corbin seat. I've had 2 mustang seat and had awesome customer service. i broke a bracket on my 1st one and called them and told them about it and they asked if i have throw over saddle bags on my bike and told them yes and they told me that that was probably the reason, but sent me a new bracket and got it 2 days later and didn't charge me anything and the seat was 3 or 4 years old.

You know, I've been riding Harley's since 1976 and have never had a problem with the stock seats.

I'd have walked away after about the first hour of waiting with an appointment.  Thats pure BS. Too many other people out there wanting my money and willing to provide a good product with good service to get it.  Screw them.

03 deuce, what kind of mustang seat did you buy for your Road Glide?  I have a Road Glide and was thinking of a new seat.  I had Corbin in the past, and I like the seat.  But, I won't buy one now that I'm hearing all this crap about their seats.  I'll try Mustang.

I bought the Mustang one-piece smooth touring seat #76206 for my 08 Roadglide.   I ride two-up about half the time, so this seat works good for me and the wife.
P.S.  If you like a hard seat, the Mustang might be too soft for you?  If you buy direct from Mustang, I believe they offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.

Maybe I am missing something !!   I have never seen a seat worth a 6 hr drive & $1300 . A friend of mine bought a corbin seat many years ago & it was like sitting on a 4x4. Local upholsterer recently redesigned  my stock seat to a much more comfortable seat, all new better pad, redid the backrest & speaker pods so everything matched. $500 total.

This is not the first time I have heard stories of bad customer service from them. I have heard a few different people complain that they called Corbin about problems with their seats and were basicly just told "Yeah, that happens". Corbin seats are not cheap by any means. You would think a supposed "top end" supplier would show a little more respect. Hopefully you won't have any problems with it.

I've met up with Corbin at several shows. I tried to talk to him once and he blew me off. He won't give you the time of day. I'm not surprised to hear a gripe about his service. He used to be nicer back in the day but now he's got it made and he really could care less what people think about him.

As to his seats, well, they look nice but they are double the price that they ought to be and they are as hard as a rock. I bought a Mustang for my Shovelhead. It's the best saddle I ever had. Before that I had a Corbin on it for ten years. It wasn't broken in yet when I sold it on eBay.

I'm familiar with folks having bad experiences with Corbin's customer service, but in this case it seems like they stepped up and were willing to make things right, although slowly. I would've gotten in writing I could send the fender back in the fall when storing the bike for a MN winter, dabbed some clearcoat or nail polish on the bare metal and gotten on with life. Only thing that really would piss me off is having to wait more than a day or two + shipping time for the replacement seat. When you make a mistake on a customer's product, they should be at the head of the line from then on-they already waited their turn once!

Blazing Saddles

Don't know if you ever rode with a Corbin before - why drop some serious coin on one now??  I've had a Mustang Wide Pillow Touring  2-up seat on my '92 FXSTC since 1995 - same seat for 14 years and I've never had a sore azz.  Put some serious mileage on in those 14 years.

Saddlemen for me.....Got a Corbin dual tour & a never installed solo & two backrests for a 94 bagger I'd like someone else to own.

Bought a seat with a removable backrest for my Softail.  The 'metal' in the seat fit right against my tailbone.  The seat was a joke, nothing like the one at the show.  They didn't want to know or listen to their customer.  I paid a huge restocking fee.  Told them I'd bad mouth them every chance I had.  See them all over at the rallies and love telling them how disappointed I am with them and how I tell everyone I know to buy from another mfg.

Someone should send this thread to them jerks.

Good for you. When a fella gets screwed by a vendor he should warn others for their own protection.
