This is a bit of an improvement over the first streets. Looks like they had a few inverted forks left over from the Muscle and Dx line. It's at least priced right to sell.

Another high compression engine at 12.0 / 1.

Revolution is 11.5-1 without ill effects running 91 octane. Should be fine in the Street. Liquid cooling deals with the heat well.

I rode one at the York open house last fall.  Yes they improved a little.  Only a little.  The brake & clutch levers are better, but they still use the funky turn signal function.  And the transmission shifting is sub par in my opinion.

Still though, for the market the MoCo is going after, it's not a bad bike.

I'll clarify; it is the Street I was writing about, not the new Street Rod.

Does it still have a big orange kill button on the bars like my Honda Shadow did?

Agreed,  looks like a parts bin special but it works. I like it more than the old ones for sure.

P.S. 12-1 isn't "high" on a liquid cooled bike. 13+ is easily achieved with no issues.

I like It! and its about time they start making something to attract the sporty crowd. But at almost $9k, how many kids can afford one?

That may be Canadian dollars?
Then everyone could afford it...except Canadians! :embarrassed:

Don't think so. They must have heard you bitching about it. I see they left out the hp in the specs. Rumor is it's about 70, which isn't all that bad for a 460 ish pound bike.

No HP but torque is shown as 47.2 at 4000 RPM.

The Motor Company hasn't posted horsepower figures on their bikes for quite awhile. I have never seen a HP figure for my '17 Slim S anywhere, only torque.

It is good to see HD coming out with some new stuff that is not a rehash of older stuff. XL Roadster, new RK Special come to mind as well as this new street. Itmay be a little high priced but will pay off down the road compared to the imports.

Only one I've ever seen listed is the v rod hp. They were proud of that.

68hp per a bunch of my dealers
I like it, I think it looks a little "hot rod" Air Cleaner is cool, paint that mesh red, even cooler imo
Need a bigger garage

To my eye they may have raised the rear and reduced the rake.  Looks like you could ride this one pretty hard.

They have cleaned up the tail section and added dual front disc.

Looks better,  progress from original 80's styling.

The biggest competitors will be SV650 Suzuki and FZ07 Yamaha.

                                  Street Rod                          Street 750
Rake:                         27 degrees                          32 degrees

Lean Angle L/R:           40.2/37.3                           28.5/28.5

Wet weight:                 516lbs.                               489lbs.

Tire sizes F/R    120/70R17 / 160/60R17     100/80R17 / 140/75R15

Tires are much better,  typical sizes.  54mpg is nice.

It's 75-100lbs too heavy and price needs to be $7500.

Are these "Street"style bikes not made in INDIA for HD!! Same quality as a Hyosung, Royal Enfield and the 800cc BMW twin.
I personally wouldn't buy any of these POS, their worse than the original British Triumphs of the 60's. The quality of parts, materials used are way below any thing I'd consider. fwiw Buffalo

Correct on both counts. I misquoted the weight as 460 ish but that was for the basic Street. Actual weight  for basic is 489 in running order and the Street Rod is 516 in case some of the readers care. Both too heavy for what they are. Never the less, this Street Rod is much improved over the basic

I could be wrong but my understanding is India charges a 100% import tax on Harley motorcycles and to get around the tax for the India market Harley assembles those bikes in India.

Might be a good time to have a raffle or donate to one for a charity.  :nix:  Get a couple out there and the others may sell.

In the v rod circle we call the v rod Harley's red headed step son. Could this one be the red headed step daughter?
