91 Evo bottom end rebuild

91 evo

I'm currently rebuilding my 91 Evo. I have the bottom end apart and I'm waiting to borrow my friends press to press out the flywheel. I want to replace the bearings but I'm not sure which bearings to replace.

Do I need to measure any of the bearings for size? 

Any other suggestions are appreciated.

Unless the bearings went bad you don't need to replace them.
Why are you rebuilding the bottom end?

I had a lifter break and the bearing went everywhere.

This Is NOT a Tort comment.
Do as you wish.
If you have not ever done one B4 there are a few tricks.
Fitment of crank bearings is one area. (plug fit)
If you are not ever going to another one perhaps it
would be better to send the wheels and rods altogether off to someone that does it all the time.
Rods should be checked for straight /true.
Both ends for egg shape.
Rebushed.
Ballanced is nice too.
Wheels in phase is another  I would vote for.  (truing stand)
Case bearings checked for being all imbeded still
(some Evos had a problem )

:agree:   What he said. Not a casual type of repair. You need some special gear and experience. My $0.02

Not at all trying to spend your money for you.

But most guys can handle the disassembly and assembly ok. But then is needed the setting up of the crank pinion shaft bearing bearing clearances, new pinion race or lap the old one,   crank end play, should the rod races be lapped and oversize bearings used, oversize crank pin? Then of course there is cylinder boring and valve job. Send that work to someone who has that experience, and can guide you within your budget, and can advise you what you can do on your own. The brown truck takes parts everywhere.

Crank work is a walk-in-the-park as long as you have a truing stand, drill press, or milling machine drilling for balancing, S&S Master Balance Tooling, GOOD torque wrench, torque multipier, flywheel fixture, precision level surface, and lastly, knowledge........
