Title: 2012 Night Rod ABS issue
Post by: dunny on February 01, 2012, 04:55:48 PM
Greetings from Oz,

Has anyone seen issues with ABS light staying on on new 2012 Night rod specials ?

It appears the harness is too short to the rear sensor and if the suspension is compressed it open circuits the connector and the ABS fault light appears.

This has happended 4 times in 1000km , the dealer has now changed the routing of the sensor wire but it does not look right.

I have heard rumors of a longer harness etc , is it true ?

Any help much appreciated

cheers
Steve

Don't know but I was all set to buy a 2012 rod back in the fall. In the past 10+ years they had to get some things right the lengths of some of the wiring and poor routing made me walk from the deal. Loved the bike otherwise, but this just rubbed me the wrong way. Wiring around the rad was my main bitch and wasn't even aware of the problem you are having. Hope they come up with a correct length for you and others.
