 Waiting on the delivery of my 1983 FLH. I have owned two Shovels a 1980 and a 1981. Both were FLT's bought new. This will be my first 4-speed. I work in sales at H-D of Frederick, MD, if you are around there spot by for a cup of coffee

Thanks all. As per Moose....a good part of everything I know has exceeded the freshness date. Maybe that is why I bought a 1983 Shovelhead.  I bought a 1980 and 1981 FLT. The 1980 was stolen. Had to sell the 81 to pay for a move and since then the 1980 was what I compared every bike I have owned since.  I work in sales at H-D of Frederick, MD.  My dream is to do whatever it takes to make this 1983 a capable long distance ride.
