Title: Inner primary cover -02 FLT
Post by: xlfan on February 07, 2022, 02:41:07 AM
The inner primary cover changed part number for -01 touring bikes. Does anyone know what the change was at actual cover? Would it exclude a 94-00 inner cover fitment wise for a-02 FLT?

I do not know of all the changes to it but I know it will definitely not bolt onto a '00 or earlier bagger transmission.

The bolt pattern on the transmission and inner primary cover changed. There are three bolts that go through the inner case and thread into the transmission. The holes for these bolts are at the 12, 6 and 8 o-clock positions. The hole at 8 o-clock is in a different position starting on the '01 model through the end of the five speed models.

I have seen a few guys proclaim that they do stuff just because others say it can't be done and attempt to relocate the hole in the inner cover or the trans case, but have never seen it successfully done.
