Title: Clutch Cable
Post by: dwjohnson on March 10, 2016, 11:37:57 AM
Buddy has a S1 Lightening. Replaced the original cable a while back and with in a few months, it's broken again (up near the lever). He is saying this latest one did not have the same shape as the old one. Is there a model specific cable for the Buells?
I believe this last one we got from Drag and it was listed for his bike??? Thanks for any input.

+1 for a Barnett cable. They make them for just about anything and the quality is better than OEM.
It does need to be routed correctly, however.

Actually the first cable he got that broke was a Barnette. He went back with a Motion Pro and it had the slight bend up near the grip he needed. Maybe this one will last. Thanks guys.

I should have done some homework.
I have a Barnett on my ironhead ..been on for 30 years.
have used them on other stuff over years.
just remembering their old quality reputation.
did they sell out to china or lose the quality?

oh, bend?  maybe it was wrong fitment cable and not just poor quality??
just looked at my 03 XB and its straight at end.  no bend.

Buell clutch cable is model specific.
I'll try to find the part # I found a while ago.
