A friend bought a used 2016 CVO SG and was not provided the pin# or the manual for the bike from the dealer.  Does anyone know if the pin # can be reset?

kd

It's too bad he didn't get the owner's manual.  Many techs will write the number on the security page.  Maybe he can access the service records and hopefully find it on the work order.  Maybe Tomcat, HG or one of the techs here will chime in with a suggestion or two.

You can change it / view it, if the security FOB is present, and working. At least you can on the pre Rushmore bikes. I assume also on the newer machines too.

If you have a fob, (to disarm security) then Centurian, Twin Scan4, or Digital Tech can be used to reset the pin number or assign a new fob..
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

We had to replace the ignition, long story.  The new ignition came with new fob's.

The steps provided by Ohio HD don't work on the CVO.  This ignition selector does not have an off position.  It has 2 positions, fork lock and on only.  The only way to turn off this bike is by the on/off kill switch on the handle bar.

To access the ignition code you turn the ignition switch to the on position, kill switch on, then hold down both turn signals at the same time.

Thanks, that allowed me to reprogram the pin.  But its not recognizing the fob and making me enter the pin every time to start.

kd

So it's the fob that needs to be re-programmed?

See reply #3 then, this is what will have to be done now.

Spoke to a local dealer who says new fobs have to be programmed for the bike, which I guess is through their computer software.  Gotta love the electronics!
