2019 CVO Road Glide. Been wanting to do a stage 2 and was looking at the new CR-480 MT Monster Torque cam. Does anyone have experience with this cam?

I spoke to Fuel Moto about that cam yesterday. I noticed in their latest cam comparison they tested the old version (not the MT). I was curious how the MT performed compared to the old version. They told me they have not had a chance to test it yet.

Not much help, but sounds like it may be difficult to get info on it. Fuel Moto is usually one of the first to give results on new cams.

Check with Durwood, he tunes a lot of builds with CR cams.

I think we need to see many others use this cam professionally to see the broader outcomes.
Keen to hear what GMR thinks.
There always hype around these products.

I'm supposed to try one in a trike this week. Will post results in the dyno room.
Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Agree. He tunes in-house at Cycle-Rama's facility. I'm sure it's a great cam but would like to see more of an unbiased result. I also wish they would show their dyno charts in SAE, the industry standard...

Wonderful folks over there at Cycle-Rama so no disrespect towards them at all.

I'm still trying to figure out how he tunes them in 1 1/2-2 hours.  :idunno: His god like attitude also irritates me.

He doesn't use TTS, so not as many tools available to him  :teeth:

We have a good assortment of bolt in cams we're going fit into one of our test bikes this month, the CR-480MT and CR/APE-485 are among them as well as as the new Andrews 485 and 465B grinds. We're just finishing up testing about a dozen cams in the SE 135 crate motor and stock engine bolt in cam testing will commence next

Excellent. It's not lost on me (and I'm sure many on this forum) how much time, effort and cost goes in to doing these comparisons.

I tested that cam, and a couple others, in my tricycle. Link

I've liked the sound of the 468 ever since it came out. Great staccato idle, and it's been a performer from day 1.

it's still the best bolt in cam out there. If you look at dyno graphs and compare numbers where most people ride, It's as good or better than anything else out there.

my ex son in law had one in his 107 lowrider, sounded nice and I had to be on my toes to stay with him, m8's respond so well to a cam and tune.
Just because its said don't make it so

I have a couple thousand miles on the CR480MT in my 114" now. I went with a PowerVision with a MAP from Fuel Moto as well as a Jackpot Riot pipe and FM cast intake. It is a very strong combination.

I have not put it on a dyno but the bike feels strong, runs smooth and cool. If I find a dyno day local I may put it up just to see what it is making. Other than that it's a monster. Roll on power in every gear.

Curious if it would be a strong performer in a '22 Lowrider ST with a Supertrapp Fatshot 2-1. I've considered a cam swap, but not sure how soon I want to do it.

I don't see why it wouldn't be.

Fuelmoto included the 480MT in their latest cam shootout. Their test bike was a 117" lowrider. Go check out their results. They used their Riot 2:1 pipe for testing, but with the tunability of your Supertrapp I bet you could get similar results.
