Title: Installing 6.5 speakers in tour pak pods
Post by: Zekedogg on June 15, 2021, 06:17:27 PM
Hello,
Im replacing the stock tour pak speakers with HAT 6.5 speakers. V- Twin audio sells adapters for this. They also sell a vent kits that opens up the back of the tour pak where the pods attach to get more bass out of the bigger speakers. My question is has anybody done this? I just wanted to know if it actually works before I go cutting holes in my tour pak.

I don't know if it works or not, but it certainly will not make any difference to the rider at 65 MPH. It might sound better standing still, or cruising through town, slow enough so the wind isn't beating your ears up.

If you mean venting INTO the tour pak behind the pods, my '15 Limited came that way stock. If you mean venting to OUTSIDE the tour pak.... well, I can say that my bike sounds much better with the pak lid open than closed.

I'm using a Biketronics 180 watt 4 channel amp to drive them.

I wouldn't worry about it... like I said later models came that way stock. I've never seen any evidence of water intrusion or other issues.
