Title: Roadking set up
Post by: themouth!!! on January 11, 2015, 05:51:56 PM
I bought a used windshield mounted stereo unit and plan to run it with a set of lower fairing speakers and a small amp. What is the best way to get signal from an ipod to both the windshield unit (Harley boom) and the lower fairings?

themouth!!! welcome my friend..

I do believe that HD unit has a 3.5mm input on it does it not?  If so, use something like this (http://www.officedepot.com/a/products/672432/4XEM-30-Pin-to-35mm-Stereo/?cm_mmc=PLA-_-Google-_-Phones_Accessories-_-672432-VQ6-42102212396-VQ16c-VQ17-pla-VQ18-online-VQ19-672432-VQ20-18283950120-VQ21-) coming out of the iPod to keep it clean looking and then use a "y" adapter with 1 going to the HD unit, the other going to the lower amp.

Here's an amp (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004HJ931M/ref=dra_a_cs_ss_hn_it_P1700_1000?tag=dradisplay-20) I've used in the past on RK installs that's pretty decent for what it is.
