Title: Ring gear keeps stripping teeth

06 ultra classic 124 S&S Bored 5 over. The ring gear keeps shredding teeth. Replaced the gear 3 times this year. Any advice.?

Are you using the 10/84 ring & pinion setup? High torque starter? 3.15 primary gearing or 3.37?
Which tuner?

I just want to add that along with a tune issue is the possibility of a weak compensator kick back.  Especially if noted on hot starts.  A properly set up 2014+ comp can make a huge difference.

Compression relief valves installed? if not does it have  EZ start cams?

 :up:   Often checking the simple stuff first can resolve an issue.

 Assuming this is a 124 crate.  I would also check if both compression releases are working.  You can physically touch the top of them during actuation.

Does it still have the stock comp installed?

A 2006 Ultra would most likely have the OG 5 speed comp...

Ahhh, yes, only 06 dyna.  It shouldn't be a problem then unless loose (but that would rear nits ugly head in other ways.
