Post by: JT Metal on August 27, 2019, 06:14:48 PM
I want to purchase the following used motor 800miles on build. Stock bottom end.
Cnc port and polished stage 2 heads. 10:8/1 compression, oem harley cylinders bored to 107. Cp pistons. 58mm throttle screamin eagle throttle body.  Ventilator intake.
Heads-$1500
Pistons and cylinders -$1700
Gaskets- $100
Tman590 cam
Lifters & pushrods $500.
58mm throttle body-$500
Ventilator air cleaner-$450
D&D fat cat exhaust.
What's it worth assembled and running.

Doesn't sound like a deal to me.

Heads-$1500
Pistons and cylinders -$1700
Tman590 cam Lifters & pushrods $500

$3,700 dollars for heads, OEM cylinders bore out with pistons, cams lifters and push rods.

Your heads ported, your cylinders bored and new pistons, buy cams lifters and push rods, about $1,600.00

My question would be...why is it apart after only 800miles? I would run from that one....and build my own. :smile

Complete motor with TB and exhaust?  I'd probably do $3000-3500.  Personally, I wouldn't do it tho unless I knew the person and the builder.

I think $1500 for a set of CNC heads is way overpriced.  I can think of a couple head porters that charge that for a "stage 2."  I dunno, I had R&R stage 4 heads for $1400.  They were amazing, but I feel over priced. Whose heads are they and what are the specs?

I had a similar motor in my RK when I bought it.

It ran less than 2000 miles before the stock flywheels scissored taking out the entire motor.

Question to ask, why is the person selling it after only 800 miles?

Your prices are way out of the normal range, build what you already have with proven parts for much less money.

107" motor completely assembled and running. With all the stuff above. D&D fatcat is $1,000 alone.

So a completely assembled 107" CNC stage II, ventilator intake,58mm t/body, Tman 590cam, S&S lifters & pushrods with D&D fatcat.

15,000miles on case & 800miles on build is worth????????

Maybe, or maybe it was pulled and replaced for a reason, didn't pan out.

I'm not asking you guys to validate the build. Just it's worth....

Come on......throw down some numbers. No need to worry.

It's either a bargain or not if you need to fix issues. If it runs well, has good compression and oil control, and tunes properly, it is a long block that is priced like  similar stockers.
It would cost more to build yours with equivalent, properly matched parts.

If it's currently in the guys bike and running right now, and your going to be using the exact same parts, why not pay to have the bike dyno tuned in his frame. If it passes the test you can buy it and flash the tune to your bikes ECM (you'd be paying for a tune after purchase anyways). Check crank runout.

Not an elder... but was I was reading and thought this idea seemed logical, if homeboy trusts the integrity of his build.

Probably $3500 for me if it really is known good, running, and has some type of warranty in case it craps soon.  Not scientific at all, just what I'd be willing to gamble.

And that 124" would come with the piece of mind of a bulletproof bottom end. A 107" set up as this one claims to be is going to put a lot of power on a stock case. I built an 11:1 117" for under 5k that included all accessory parts and a dyno tune with a new tts flashing device as well.

I took a pass on it. But believe the seller to be honest. Like stated. 124" takes care of all issues for like dollars and more power to boot.
