Title: Which cam for this combo? Tman 590ps or TTS150 Replacing the Tman 625
Post by: blown alcohol on July 20, 2021, 03:17:47 PM
These are my 2 cam choices (limited time before trip). I am headed out west in Aug for 2 weeks.
Which cams do you think will work best in my combo?

2013 cvo ultra 110ci, mega-flo 110 heads, tman 625 cams, 10.6 comp, injectors, heavy breather, 58TB, fullsac pipes with 2.0 baffles.

I want earlier tq, and do not want to loose hp either. Also, I do not care about hp @6k rpms.
The 625's hits hard @3k rpms. I would like power earlier

Have you asked the head porter about a recommendation?   He may know what works best with his porting.

Leave it as is and go to a Fatcat exhaust. TM 590 PS2's will come in slightly later than TM 625's.

I would do the TTS150 cam, and a retune. Dave did this (https://harleytechtalk.com/htt/index.php/topic,110218.0.html) one. I did something (https://harleytechtalk.com/htt/index.php?action=dlpmattach;pm=188702;attach=199;image) similar, with oversized pistons & WFO Larry port work, that worked well.

Your combo works well. You want it as good as it is, but I but earlier...
Why don't you change your transmission ratio?
You don't touch your engine, the operation is simple, not expensive if you do only the front pulley, and you get all what you want...

I think i just may go with the tts150 and feel that table top TQ like rigidthumper posted.

Yes bike runs great just want more down low where most time is spent riding.

At 10.6, a Wood 408-6, or the T-Man .660 PS-2.

Hillside,

I hope I can be happy with a lot less lift, and less valvetrain worries.
I am leaning towards the tts 150. He has only those two cams in stock. I'm am going to have it done this Friday.
That cam seems to produce flat tq curve. If he makes hp to 5400 great. I am running stock crank.
Later, when its 124 time I can reuse the 625 cams

I would not run the 150 at 10.6. I did once.

Hey Don,

I've read on another forum Steve Cole posted he had rode a bike that was tuned with the tts150 @10.8

Not saying that makes it ok. What problems did you encounter at 10.6?

220cp. It ran great but would take someone who did data logging and some heat related timing changes. The tuner didn't have the skills.

ok,

after he is done tuning I will see if he will let me ride around in the Florida heat with TTS tuner plugged in. Then he can look to see if any areas needed timing pulled.

Running the 150s in a 117 trike with the comp pretty close to 10.5, PV tuner. I was skeptical at first about the cam choice but it runs great.

I'm really surprised that you didn't get at least 115 at 2500 rpms with the  TMan 625 cam and and the right parts you have, plus at the CR the TMan 625 needs to come on early.  The TMan 625 has all the right specs to be a early TQ cam.

T-Man   TR- 625G   23   41   45   21   244   246   44   99   102   100.5

On my 107 with Tman 660sm a 2 into one brought the torque in 500 rpm later as opposed to the Softail interconnect and a set of Khromewerks HP+ slipons which worked surprisingly well.
Perfectly tuned  of course.

No known valvetrain worries with the use of either, over here.
That .625 T-Man in a 124" might not be what you'd want.
