Title: MM Conversion Pingel fitting kit
Post by: FLH_Rider on July 26, 2021, 06:00:37 PM
Instructions from Pingel says to install plug in rear hole and adapter in the front.
This does not leave much room between the choke bracket and the hose barb on the Pingel valve,
Would there be an issue in putting the adapter in the rear instead,

I can confirm putting the adapter in the front hole makes things a bit tight.
Sometimes I wonder if I should have used the rear hole for the adapter.
It looks as though it would work properly.
I had to file down some of the fins on the cylinder head to make everything fit.
It is tight under there - no room for a nice external fuel filter for example.

If I knew then what I know now I would have bought a used tank from a carb'd bike!

I just called Pingel and confirmed you can use either hole, for reference anyone doing the conversion do opposite of Pingels instructions, if you are using the HD bracket with the choke, mit will give you more room,,
