Title: HD VPC base plate??????
Post by: 838 on February 07, 2019, 04:14:46 PM
I've installed this little metal base plate, I've bent the tabs and installed under the clutch spring as per the instructions. I don't understand the importance of this piece and as I look at it all I see is a flimsy piece of metal that's going to rattle around in my primary... am I missing something here?  Anybody with experience using this piece would be appreciated, the bike is disassembled for a few more weeks as it is.

Goes on top of the clutch spring, doesn't it?

The VPC itself goes on top. There is this little base support ring that goes under the clutch spring. It's just like the a.i.m. One from the video below. I just don't understand why it's there...

Looks like just a shim to take up space.

it's a wear plate for the VPC arms to push against so they don't wear into the pressure plate

AIM also do their own Billet Pressure Plate which has the wear plates built in
