Title: Question on a wheel swap
Post by: Coyote on April 15, 2019, 05:44:12 PM
Question for a friend of mine....

He has a 1998 EGC and would like to install a 5 spoke wagon wheel off a 2006 Road King. This is a front wheel.

So is this doable with just a bearing change?

Thanks

The 98 is Timpkins and the 06 isn't if that helps.

Keith these adapters allow the use of the 3/4" axle in a 1" wheel bearing. Custom spacers would need to be made.

these adapters work a treat, lots of outfits make them, I've made a few sets here at home

The 98 has a cable driven speedometer, I think. If so the 06 wheel won't have the notch for the cable

Yes to cable speedo but I don't think the 06 does so that shouldn't be a problem.  You' Just have an empty notch.

the notch is in the rotor so shouldn't be too hard to sort out
