Title: Stock M8 Touring Mufflers.
Post by: mike jesse on August 15, 2020, 11:48:51 AM
I broke down and bought a new 2020 SGS Thursday.
So far so good.
I'm almost embarrassed to ask this question, but here goes.
The head pipe has the usual cat installed, what about the mufflers?
I could swear I've read that the stock mufflers have them too?
What says the Forum?

Just in the head pipe. Be careful when going for more noise, those M8s will drop the TQ a good bit when u go wide open baffles.

I'm aware of the baffle size, just wasn't sure about them having cats.

I think it sounds pretty good as is, at least from the seat while riding it.

Originally I drilled out both mufflers with the appropriate hole saw. Just enough to remove those end baffles.  It was a simple effective mod.

The mufflers will get a little louder at about 1,000 miles.
Stock exhaust is fine by me.
