Post by: WhipLash96 on November 01, 2020, 06:49:19 AM
Does anyone have any experience with this cam?

Its pretty new right now.  I dont think anybody has run the 540 or 590 yet on a dyno.  Probably call S&S for a dyno sheet I am sure they have some.

Where did the power start coming in? I took a look at the video from Blockhead and it looks to be more of a right handed cam. Can you confirm this?

Yes it is more of a right handed cam. Power comes on strong 3000rpm but still pulls good off the bottom. Works very well in my softail. Previous cams were s&s 550 rs552 and wood 9f60 .this is my favorite cam so far.

Were you making close to the same power with the other cams or does the 590 stand out by far in that category?

Did you by chance measure CCP after the cam install?

It would be awesome to see those 4 graphs combined to see their different curves!

Wish I knew how to post the dyno sheets. I'm not computer savvy.

Results matter and this cam when paired with matching large displacement, the right compression etc, seems to be doing fine. The timing is interesting and  different enough between cylinders to change the CCP estimate to greater than 10lbs less on the rear cylinder. I know why they are doing this but just wonder how the driving impression is, normal riding and at slow speeds and how hard it is to tune.

Slow speed riding is excellent. Dave at JD'S cycle works tuned the bike and never mentioned any difficulties with the tuning.
