Title: Starting to know my old bike
Post by: dubepj on November 26, 2018, 07:40:49 AM
Newly acquired 1985 FXWG with Evo engine and 4 speed, belt drive rear wheel.
Please correct me if I'm wrong. This is how I believe this works.
The primary (wet) breaths through the hollow tranny shaft where the clutch push rod goes through.  Then both primary and tranny vent through a small hole in the top at the back of the tranny.  Is this how it works?

Depends on how it is plumbed.

I usually seal the primary and use the oil feed fitting as a vent.

Not sure no vent is good, and to count on it venting via the clutch pushrod seems chancey
