I launch at 3000rpm. Anything more gets wheel spin on street tire.

I tried strapping the front end but the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts made the front end feel like I was running over something. I'm hand/foot shifting so maybe clutch in and throttle closed makes the rear unload and pushes on the front end.

I mean it's a wide glide so the front end is not ideal for any kind of performance.

I'll talk to a suspension shop and see what they say.

Im consistent at 12.1s@111 with 1.8 +\- in the 60'. A quick shifter and stickier tire would bring it down very easy, and suspension too.

I picked up my 1997 Wide Glide today with 2 replaced motor mounts. The mechanic showed me both of them and the front one was in bad shape. I hit a few sets of railroad tracks on the way home and the clunk is gone. THANK GOODNESS!

Doesn't matter, but stick to whichever.  This is my lesson learned on other carbs.  Don't know how much it effects supers but on the intermediate jet.  S&S has a small counter sink drilled onto the jet and not all after market does.  How much does this really affect things? :nix:

I had a wheel from a CVO M8 that took a ton of weight to balance. I tried moving he tire around and it didn't help. It was so much weight, that I took the tire off and checked the wheel itself. The problem was the wheel. I also checked it for runout in the truing stand, and it was perfect. I don't understand how that cast and machined aluminum wheel could be that imbalanced. Called the customer and he decided to run it. It's the worst I've ever seen by far, and very unusual.

It came out that the wheel was a take-off that he bought cheap at an H-D dealership. I would guess that it was taken off for good reason! Just the same, I never saw one that bad and I can't explain it.

The Dunlop's WWW have to be the worst for having to use a lot of weights to balance.

They are much more readily available, and much much cheaper than the very expensive (in Australia) genuine S&S jet kit.... Just concerned about the quality.

OK thanks,
Stupid question, but do I need genuine S&S jets? Or are the cheaper reproduction ones OK to use??

Cheers
