Title: Motor Mods
Post by: NHBagger on October 30, 2021, 03:17:19 PM
Just got a 117 cvo trike and planning winter mods. Right now thinking decat header, grand national mufflers, cr480 cam, pv tuner.
Undecided about the manifold swap.
Also not a fan of the A&S clutch but may live with it for a bit.
First m8, on the right track?

What is the hesitation about the manifold swap?

Basically I added that for feedback.

Most agree that replacing the plastic manifold helps the power some,  and the aluminum manifold is more stable than plastic.

Old post, but I may have to add the TTS175 to the cam list.
Seems like it produces.

It will make 115 /130 with that cam and come on right away assuming a decent pipe choice.

Don, that may not be true for a trike?

True, my context was two wheels.

Trike or 2 wheeler, engines are the same except for overall gearing IIRC.

Don is right about the numbers depending on pipe/muffler choices.
TTS cam is a good choice along with the tuner. Keep your plastic manifold, etc.

If you go bigger, or plan to soon, you will probably have to change injectors and cam anyway and go with the manifold then. Then clutch and it never ends!
LOL

It's a good engine and will produce good power easier than a twin cam.

Ask me how I know!

Going with stock header decat, Grand National mufflers and Ventilator Extreme a/c.

Consider a cr480, a larger tb and manifold will help and attract point you will be out of injector

Not sure I understand the above?
Would love to see an overlay between the TTS and the CR but have not found one. Did see one between the 175 and Woods 22x that GMR did though.
