Title: cam set up on 1200 sportster

does the 1200 have the same cam tensioner set up as the v twin anything to be looking for

no, not the same set up.  There's 4 individual gear driven cams in the Sportsters.  They look like this:

so you are saying that there are no tensioners in there just a shoe

no tensioners, no shoes.  each cam has a gear that meshes with the cam beside it- it'a a gear driven set up...

Andrews 8 cams are a good choice, if the compression is kicked up a tick.
