EVO 1340 / Re: Another EVO with low oil p...

I decided to check the primary chain tension and was able to turn the sprocket a small bit. Rocking forward and back. It wasn't loose, but with a little pressure it definitely turned. The spring cup was tight

I pulled the primary cover and noticed that the turning I was getting was the comp. sprocket ramps contacting fore and aft.

I'm thinking the compensator nut may be bottoming out or bound up on something and not getting full pressure. I'm going to give it a thorough cleaning try re-installing with proper torque and measure the stack depth. (unfortunately, I didn't measure the stack prior to removal)

Here's the view from the rear prior to removing the nut.

Quote from: Shep236 on April 13, 2024, 10:01:56 AMThank you ASW.  How much power do you think this 03 with just the 1275 conversion with stock heads would make?  If it'd be comparable to what you posted I'd be tempted just to do that and be done with it.  I have an electra glide with head work and cams as my go to bike.. this is just gonna be for fun.

A bone stock EFI 883 makes 47ish horsepower, where a bone stock carb'ed 883 is doing good if it breaks 40hp. This 7ish horsepower advantage to the EFI version remains about the same whether you're comparing stock-to-stock or converted-to-converted. It comes from both the cams difference (W's in the EFI bikes, D's in the carb'ed bikes) and the EFI itself (the 45mm throttle plate and the ability to tune both cylinders individually).

HD parts book shows the 27708-06B TB is used on all 07-17 dynas & softails. The -10A part number should be a direct bolt on, but you will have to recalibrate the VE tables due to the larger butterfly ( more air per ° of plate movement)

Does anyone remember the thread regarding FXR frame mods to fit a -04 FLT drive train?
I can't find it with the search engine.

Quote from: Bagger on April 15, 2024, 04:32:57 PMWhat was the engine build of the 117"?

The info is from No Cents

4.375" stroke x 4.125" bore
Fueling Reaper 594 cams
wfolarry CVO 110" heads
Compression 11.3:1
SE 58mm T/B with 5.3 injectors
D&D Boarzilla exhaust

I put the motor in my bike and bought a Boarzilla so everything matched. He let me have the TTS MAP as we both had 2008 touring bikes.
