Is there a major difference between ‘84 & ‘92 FXR exhaust?

Buddy of mine wants to move his FXR from the US to CANADA and this requires stock exhaust for the inspection. Would the exhaust from a '84 fit on an '92?

Thanks!

Early or Late '84 exhaust?   E84 is probably shovelhead, L84 Evo...   If Late you should be good to go.

Can you pass an inspection for a basket case?  ie boxes of parts (exhaust that might not fix) along with the rest...  seems unlikely a standard inspection dude would know the flange and head pipe difference ...

The inspections are done at a Canadian Tire Service Center.  They have a monopoly on the RIV inspection.   I've had a few done. They won't know the difference.  Just use something that isn't obnoxiously loud and looks decent.

All 84's are EVO's

The difference in the early and late Evo exhaust is the height of the cross over tube.  The tube was lowered to make room for the larger air boxes used on the later FXR's

How late is late? Just trying to give a concise answer, thanks.
