Title: shovel problemws
Post by: monty101 on November 08, 2008, 08:51:51 AM
scooter will shut down when ever you twist the throttle past halve way. It's got to be the s&s e carb I guess. I put new plugs, points, condenser and coil on it and it still does it. Start it up let it idle and then twist the wick and she tries to shut down. Gas is running out the fuel line when I disconnect it from the carb. Anybody got any ideas what could cause the carb to do this?

weird. I pulled the choke on and it started and when I twisted the wick it was find. I ran her down the road and finally took the choke off and she ran fine. I guess its about 60 here and I didn't figure I'd need to leave the choke on that long. Still thinks somethings up with it. Its been setting about a month. Maybe the gas passages were getting stopped up or something like my old 2 stroke yz.

That is weird.....might check for a possible leak at the intake or if running points might check for a sticky advance mechanism.
