IMHO, how S&S reacts sets the stage for the future of crate motors. Problems with crate motors is becoming the norm. lately S&S is regressing, and Ultima is progressing.

My guess is they'll want to have it taken to an S&S authorized warranty shop.

Thanks for the feedback. Not my motor but they are wanting me to dig into it a bit too much.
  Sounds best if I step back and let a shop troubleshoot.
 I appreciate the replies.

Heads were sent back under warranty and replaced.
 Guides, seals and rings all looked good.
Checking for a crack or porosity.

I will update if a cause is found.

Not sure what the issue was with the leak- but I want to add that S&S was very accommodating and my friend was very satisfied with the way they dealt with him.
