Title: Rotor clutch basket
Post by: Hooda on September 05, 2013, 06:57:20 PM
Awhile back I wrote about my 1988 sportster. The magnets on my rotor clutch basket collided with the stator. I replaced the clutch basket and new bearing in that, replaced clutch hub, new bearing in the trap door and a new clutch shaft ( the part that goes thru the bearing in the trap door and what the clutch hub slides on) and of course new stator. Anyways 400 miles since all that. I pulled the drain plug and I had chunks on the magnetic drain plug. So I pulled the side cover and it's full of chunks of magnets so it did it again. Help what is going on?

Another question about this problem. Could it be they collided because I pumped the motor up. She dynoed at 80 Hp maybe a little more. Just wondering
