Post by: waltcentral on May 21, 2019, 05:38:59 AM
Google or forum searches not really helpfull. I need to measure to find out what primary belt I have.  How do I measure?

I need to know how to measure tooth size.  No marking on belt to identify.

It looks like 14mm or on the outside possibly 13.8mm. Used a caliper to measure. The front pulley is a solid piece with shoulders to capture the belt. Clutch looks stock. No Idea how old or who made it. No idler pulley.  Belt does not look dry rotted or cracked but there is what I assume is belt material fibers along side of the wall of the primary mainly around the front pulley.
Drag Specialties shows one 69T 1.5 inch 14mm belt and a 13.8mm and 14mm 78 tooth belt.  Anybody have an idea who made these?
Clutch seems fine and shifting is sharp.
Is this a worthwhile setup or prone to problems?

Talked to Primo today the system I have is one of there older designs. Still make belts. They make a vented insp. and derby covers.
