Title: A little brake upgrade for an 84 FXRS
Post by: Thermodyne on June 26, 2022, 10:49:19 AM
I decided to get off my ass and put some of the upgrades I've been collecting parts for on my FXR.  Four pot calipers, shocks, emulators, and digital gauges.  I started with the heavy lifting and welding up the swing arm to accept a 2000-08 caliper.

First, I made a bracket, then welded it to the swing arm

Then I Rebuilt the 2000 Road King caliper.  It was all frozen up and looked to have the original fluid in it, complete with white crystals from water.

And the done.

Changing the fronts over to four pots is easier, it just takes some store-bought plates and longer lower hoses.
