Title: new cams options
Post by: flht1550 on July 26, 2021, 05:09:52 PM
OK guys I'm looking for options on a cam for my 96" shovel with Velva Touch shovel/ Evo. oiling lifters and blocks also has TP Evo roller rockers that have been cut and re welded for shovel rocker ratio. I'm not looking for a hot rod cam but something that would work at around 1800-5500 RPM and quite.

How much compression and how much weight?

I used a VThunder SHV-4020 242° closes the intake at 45° with a 104° separation angle in the 93" Torque Monster I built for my Servicar w/higher compression S&S Pistons & S&S heads. It's a very happy combination, makes me smile. I'm geared really high and it will chug along calmly cruising, and makes more power than I have been able to use as yet.

V Thunder 3030 is a good choice with the compression and parts you have.

FWIW, a Lieneweber L-5 would work well.
