What is a good  low buck combo for M8 ? Still retains gas mileage and rrelatively inexpensive?

Hit up Durwood (member here) .480 CR cam, most any 2 into 1 pipe, ditch the plastic manifold, PV tune, 45+ mpg,    2020, 114", FXLRS, CR480, S&S 2-1 (harleytechtalk.com) (https://harleytechtalk.com/htt/index.php/topic,115589.0.html)

That's pretty much it, these motors really respond to a cam change, good exhaust, air cleaner, and as important as the parts, a good tune.
Peruse the Dyno section, and especially the cam comparison tests in the M8 section by Fuel Moto and Durwood.
