Title: Huddle up team!
Post by: CrazyRay on May 27, 2011, 09:33:12 PM
Need a little input please. I have a '76 that had been rode hard put up wet. I rebuilt it, mostly. New top end, vavles, guides seat. New rod set. Now that I have gotten it running there are metal shavings in the oil. Way too much. Looks like all kinds, brass, aluminum, steel. I did not do anything to the tranny. It looked good goes through all gears. Did not do anything to the cams or bushings. Did not replace clutch basket bearing. I am afraid to run it anymore before I sort this out. I felt I should have replaced that clutch bearing. I guess I should start there. Your thoughts?

I have been wondering if I got the shims in the right places.
