Are they any good? I am going to replace the bearings in my '09 Ultra w/ABS. I was trying to go non-china, but cannot seem to locate. Never had an issue with DS before, and they have front and rear bearing kits. Will these be acceptable or are they junk?

Never had any issues with them. I have several sets in my parts cabinet now.

Made out of ~ like most, I have seen them last just as long as the OEM bearings, which isn't all that long if we are talking 25mm.  Harley screwed up when they got away from the much beefier 1" bearing which lasted forever.

Propflux01

25MM = 0.984252 inch, which is negligible in size difference. Are you referring to a once superior HD product VS a presently inferior made HD product instead?

Not the internal size of the bearing the width made it beefier

So I guess the question now is a source for the best available 25mm bearings?

Not having one in front of me, can anyone provide the other two dimensions for these bearings?  OD and thickness?

Propflux01

Seems sourcing the non ABS bearing isn't that hard, its the ABS one with the magnets that no one seems to carry.

I believe the discs are available separately and were discussed in a thread here.

Yep. FSG has posted about alternate ways to deal with the ABS issue.

The stock early HD TC sealed bearings are single row.

My mistake Max.

I get them mixed up too....larger ball bearings in the old ones. WAY more robust!

I used to think they were double row, til someone told me I was wrong. Pried the seal off and saw single row. They are a deep grove bearing with much better seals tho.

One other question. just for curiosity, the bearings should be replaced starting with the left. Why is this? seemed to me that no matter which side you started on, the end result would have been the same. No?

No. You need to install the first bearing on the primary brake side. For the front wheel, that's the left bearing. For the rear wheel, it's the right bearing. The second bearing is not bottomed out and if you installed it first, the wheel would be out of alignment.

I see, makes sense now. Thank you.
