Harley has a 42300124A TPMS kit for 2020 and later touring bikes, have a customer with a 2019 Limited that would like to add this kit, was wondering what makes it not compatible with the 2019, GTS software or valve stem compatibility maybe?

It could be the wheels themselves. If I recall, they need to be mounted in the center of the wheel, like on the CVOs, not offset. Also, Diag4bike and techno research devices can enable the radio to use the tpms.

Thanks,  I ordered a set and will give them a look to see what rims they will work on.  Wouldn't mind a set on my 2015 with the new GTS radio, but have read where I would need newer gauges or even a BCM.   It's not a priority but for me right now, but might be a good winter project.

Phil,  please report if it's possible to retrofit this TPM system. I have a 2019 Ultra and would love to add this feature.

Phil,  Have you started this winter project yet?

Well, I'm happy that your shop is busy. That's a good thing! Let us know when you get a chance to work on it.  Thanks and Happy New Year!

Hi Phil,
I've asked around, but nobody has yet given me a definitive answer.
What powers the valve sensors, and how often if ever do they need to be replaced?
Not having any trouble with mine, just curious.

Thanks
Pauly

HD TPMS units use a 3V battery, molded in. Life expectancy is 5-12 years, (7 average) and replacement of the TPMS unit is required when the battery fails.

Ignorance is bliss, and accuracy expensive. How much of either can you afford?

Phil, did you ever have a chance to see if you could retrofit the TPMS system to a 2019 with a GTS radio?

BigT

I had looked into this upgrade to my 2107 that has the upgraded radio. If I remember correctly my rims weren't cast with the required recessed area to properly fit the valve device.

I did not, had a customer call and said he had a defective TPMS and they were on backorder, so I sold him the set I had.
Pretty sure I was going to have to buy a new BCM for my 2015, but don't believe you have to with your 2019
