On this date in 1978 I purchased my Shovelhead Lowrider. Thanks to Phil's advice I have it back to good running order. Rode it 50 miles one way to dealer I bought it from to get a part for a sportster I am working on. I don't know the milage because the speedometer has been replaced 3 or 4 times over the years. Current speedo showing about 50,000. I have ridden this bike across country 6 or 8 times. Had plenty of adventures and breakdowns.

Looks good! Congrats on keeping it that long and keeping it on the road.

Nice looking bike.  I have always liked the early FX / Low Rider bikes with the OEM Harley bags on them. I thought they looked so natural and could never figure out why more people didn't use them.

Here is a shot of the rear with bags. The license plate is an historic plate. Regular plate is $25 a year. The historic plate cost $30 and is good as long as I own this bike. I put this plate on in 2009 so I have been saving every year.  :teeth:

Historic 76 plate on my 76 as well.

This '72 has been hanging in the air in a buddy's man cave for 20+ years. He passed away from cancer a couple of years ago and his wife decided it was time to get it down, go through it, and let his son start riding it. Took a bit...but she's a rider again. You cannot view this attachment.

OK thank you Shovelhead Enthusiast's, past, present, yet to be shovelers,  even been there done that moving on to newer technology Hogs.
It has been a labor of love journey post the Covid shutdown to get this 1980 Flh Classic back to all it's glory. Had to experience one for myself just the way it is. 135-140 psi both cylinders went back to the factory hydraulics and the skinnier Andrew's  adjustables. Love the Sifton 112 Cobra The Deluxe Solo pogo seat I can flat foot it and back it out of the garage so good to go Caddy comfort. Sweet is all I can add. Note It takes ne 3 or 4 tries to fix issues but you can call me slow, my shop rate is $0/hr.
Thanks to those who contributed their unselfish time to help. :chop:  :gob:
