Title: Cycle Rama 480
Post by: 2018 fxfb on March 11, 2019, 03:06:24 PM
I just read the cycle rama will be coming out with a new M8 cam, the CR 480. Wondering how it will compare to the RS 468 or S&S 475. I believe it comes out in a few weeks. Will be interesting to see comparisons

I just installed and tuned one of them and I like it!

It makes great power and has that aggressive idle sound everyone is looking for.

This is with a de-catted stock head pipe and FM Outlaw mufflers.

That looks like a good runner, looks like about a 20% torque and 30% HP increase over stock not bad. It look like the new cam to be had. Good job.

Looks really good! How will it compare to the RS 468, mainly so on a big bore build?

Thanks. Wes is never satisfied and I guess that's why he has been so successful over the years.

Yes, the CR-480 is now my new favorite bolt in cam.

Curves will be very similar, but having tuned both I feel the 480 has a slight advantage.

110/120....  M8 has issues, but they respond ridiculously well to cam upgrades.

The CR 470 needs more than stock compression, 11:1+

Hey good news, looking forward to seeing how they go in a 114.

I just got a new bike with a 114 and plan to let Darren do a stage 2 with the 480 cam in the near future. Plan was to get it done at the 1000 mile mark but it may be fall before I do it. Been over a year since I have ridden a bike so it will be hard for me to justify downtime for mods while the weather is good  :SM:.

Completely understandable, I myself do not suffer this fall affliction living in sunny north Queensland as I do  :teeth:

The result will be worth the loss of riding time...and Daren gets right with it. You won't be without a bike for long.

He has tuned two for me, and he will tune this one soon. Just enjoying eating up the curvy middle TN back roads on these 70-80° days right now.  :chop:
