Post by: fbn ent on November 02, 2021, 09:54:35 AM
I should know this (a friend asked) but ..... What difference in length (if any) between an '82 WG with 130/16 and an '83 FX with a 19"? Thanks

Here:

https://franksforks.com/HARLEY-FORK-TUBES.html

WG = 24.75
FX = 23.25

However, don't forget the WG has 40mm tubes, FX has 35mm....

Thanks, my buddy is pondering a change from the wide kit to a WG fork.

My FXR was swapped to a 41mm x 16 setup from the original 35mm noodle.
Gold valves and RT springs works great but very heavy.

I have a Dyna 39mm fork to install with the 19" wheel and 1" axle.
I'll loose the dual brakes but from what I have heard a single is fine.

The wheel size makes very little difference in axle height (1/2" from 16" to 21"), I prefer the longer fork, but don't use the long fork if you are going to slam it.
