having had a XB9 for several years now I have noticed a trend.
after about 5 thousand miles on my Mobil one I notice my tires are worn.

so every oil change=new tires.  kinda pricy.
I have diablos on it this time.
good sticky tires that sposta have some life.

any tire suggestions that maybe could get me 2 oil changes out of a set of tires??
also thinking of dual compound tires.
hard in middle for hiway and soft on sides for twisty.  any one run such??
thanks

Yea, use some house brand dino oil from the parts house and change it @ 2,500 m. Double your tire mileage per oil change.  :idunno:
I'm starting to believe my body is gonna outlast my mind.

My Uly went through the stock Scorpion in about 5k, Dunlop Sportmax dual compound went maybe 7k, now over 10k on Michelin PilotRoad2 with meat left.  PR3s are supposed to be better than my 2s.  PR4s are either out, or coming soon.

thanks.  will look and price them out.
I remember looking at them 5000 ago but lots of folks said good things bout the diablo strata.
they nice, they hold.  but they wear.

hummm road pilots are $40 more for rear and 20 more for front.
soooo
looked around .  I kinda like what Pirelli did for
handling.
found a Pirelli angel since the stratos is discontinued.
they say dual compound set up for high mileage.
tread pattern looks good.  (some actual tread in middle of tire)
cost was 135 for rear and 112 for front. (like 1/2 price deal.  they will be here Friday.

good for more than one oil change I hope.

Don't get much more mileage than that myseff on my decidedly non sporting Softail. Conspiracy?

is your soft tail spinning tires?
do you aggressively use the front bake?

got the package. tires look good.  tread down middle and everything good.
so now I have an angel on my side.
how I ride sometimes it may be a good thing.
will update cause tires are a touchy thing on buells.

sure wish I could get some mileage.  I rarely spin back.  I do heavy brake front.
lots of twisty bad roads here so that may be eating them up.

oh well, its only money

angels are all mounted. sure look good. lots of meat, running finger nail over tread sides are like erasers. middle considerably harder.
we shall see mileage wise. (will report)
they sure do look bitchen.  first ride will be in a hour.
nice twisty road to saguaro lake.
ebc brakes been on over a year and look fine.  no brake dust.
will be only bike soon.  taking apart 03 fxdx for bearings, cam, heads, carb and big bore.
((then a supercharger or turbo) got to keep up with the buell))
