Title: Power Vision engine temp
Post by: Lone Ranger on July 29, 2019, 10:59:07 AM
When I have my Power Vision hooked up to my 2002 Fatboy stock 88 ci and have engine temperature monitored on Power Vision gauges is that oil temp or head temp or what? On a hot day riding with a good tail wind that temp runs up to 270. Is that too hot for the stock 88 with synthetic oil?

The PV is based on the head temp sensor. Your temps look normal to me.

Thanks. I was surprised how much difference there was depending on whether I was heading into a fairly strong wind, a cross wind or with a tail wind. A cross wind right to left bike ran hotter than a left to right wind, probably because of the exhaust side. It would vary 20 to 30 degrees.
