Found some very good info in the search. Thanks HTT... Looks like I'm going to pick up a spare module 6100-m and get the Mallory circut gaurd #29371 as it provides both clean up of signals and absorbes voltage spikes. I like the way it runs with this iggy set up.

The 557 is a dist with essentially a nosecone ignition in it.
Programmable curves and rev limit and all that.

The 556 is basic with mechanical advance and an electronic trigger.

When I swapped my dual plugged heads for stock single plug heads last year, I installed a Mallory 556 ignition. Super simple install and starts easy. Very low tech compared to the PowerArc ignition I've run since 2004.

Mine would be a 556. It's all I need on a Pan with 8.5-1 cr and an Andrews F cam. Not lookin to hot rod this bike.
