What cam is in this motor? Bushing cam plate and hydra tensioners?
All I have ever seen is the cam lift. .658 in.
Hi Mike, must be SE266E
I believe the original cam for the Jims engines was the SE264- 24/60 .635" lift, 60/22 .635" .219"/.211" TDC lift. Underwhelming as received. Put one in an 08 CVO with stock TB and V&H duals with V&H slip-ons.
They don't have enough compression to support that set of cams.
Heads are probably mediocre I would guess as well.
The Jims 131 has the same ports, head casting, and valves as the HD Ported CNC MVA heads with a different bolt patters and different dowels to accommodate the 4.310 bore . Being as the lift is .658 that matches the 266E. I will have it down next week and see first hand.
The 2008 SE catalog showed the following specs:
Peak Horsepower . . . . . . . . . . 130 @ 6200 RPM
Peak Torque . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 135 @ 3750 RPM
Displacement . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 131 C.I.
Bore x Stroke . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .4.312" x 4.500"
Compression Ratio . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 10:1
Intake Valve Diameter . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 2.080"
Exhaust Valve Diameter . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1.625"
Cam Lift. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .635"
This is from Jims #25 catalog, I will have it down and get it figured out. Must be early and later variants.
Don there was a 6cc difference on the last set of 131 heads I did.
Holy cow. These came in right at 96.6 both. Valve lengths and seat to tip were close but the seat heights did vary (valve job), protrusion 2.002 to 2.015.
What are you gunna do to this one??
Just set the compression up a little and let the owner get the right peripherals. Last one of these I did we put bigger valves in, 12:1 and an S&S 675 cam and it made 175/165 B motor.
Very nice performance bump.
Has a SE264E, :oil:
 . What's the replacement going to be?

I noticed that too. Appears the new crate has a bigger cam. The older crate does indeed SE264-.635.
