Title: Baseline settings for CV40 carb and DTT ignition after cams and rebuild?
Post by: Adam76 on August 27, 2021, 06:16:21 PM
Hey guys,
Just finishing up the build on my '02 Fatboy and wondering what a good starting point would be with my carb set up and my ignition.

Build specs:-
Wiseco flat tops - 95" big bore pistons
.030" MLS head gasket
2009 heads just cc'd and cleaned up (no real headwork).
CR575 cams
10.1 calculated static compression
~ 190 - 195 ccp not measured yet
S&S quickie PRs
Stock CV carb with CV performance velocity needle and a bunch of different jet sizes.
DTT ignition.

Just looking for an idea of where you start with the ignition settings and carb set up.

Thanks for any advice.

It's all guesswork at this stage, try 46 pilot and 190 main, and 3 - 5 on the DTT.

How do you plan on tuning it ?

Thanks speedzter,
After break in I'm getting it dyno tuned. 👍
I just need to get it fairly close for the first few hundred miles before the dyno.
Cheers
