Title: No Spark- 2002 TC-88 Softail Heritage Carb bike
Post by: JWD123 on September 16, 2021, 10:36:48 AM
Looking for some advice on 2002 TC-88 Softail Heritage. Bike was running fine- following day- Bike will turn over but will not start.. Gas is fine, Ignition is fine, Tested coil per shop manual-within spec. Checked plug wires-both are within spec, Checked fuses- ok.. Tested spark plugs by holding a new plug against cylinder head and turned over-NO Spark.. was going to replace Crank Position sensor (CKP) next..

Any other opinions?

Thank you

Could be CKP...did you get a code?  And were plugs in the engine when you checked for spark?  Engine must develop compression for spark to occur (apologies if you already knew this).

I'm betting CKP.

Thanks for the response..I did leave the plugs in the heads when I checked for spark, and I ordered a replacement CKPto be delivered next week.. I'll post an update if this solves the issue.

Follow up- Changed CPK and the engine fired right up.
