Middle of winter, time for armchair talk!
Who these days is still around that specializes in head porting for Ironheads? Am thinking about Perry Kime of FLO Headworks, but they may be others. Zippers?

Jim lubanati. Megaflow. Check his Facebook page. I know he recently did a couple iron heads. His knowledge and ability is unquestioned.
good question.
iron is harder to cut than alum.
betting "new" guys not even bothering.
and to learn what works on ports for these few left.
again, why bother.
Axtel did mine 30 years ago. now dead
Branch ..dead
iron head tom...dead.
most of my old racing/building friends...you guessed it.
damn it sucks to be old.
(old does beat the alternative though)
crap.

SBC Short block charlie in Tempe AZ He is still above grd last i heard.
i know charlie,
he sized/reamed a set of bronze/alum guides i put in my iron heads.
ex was too tight and slowed down a valve.
so he does work on them.
just dont know how much experience he has porting them.
guess we could ask him..lol
You might also speak with Scott at Hillside. He doesn't show Iron Head on is site, but that doesn't mean he doesn't work on them.

Yes, we port those.
Might not sound earth-shattering, but a 1000cc Iron XL with an E carb, Dyna 2000i, Wiseco pistons, OE HD P cams, with ported heads....63 ft/lbs, 65 hp.
Baisley. Expensive but excellent.
Gary UMS in Deland, Florida is still doing engine and head work on Ironheads...
He just installed a balanced and blue printed lower end in my 77.

Most bikes these days can beat the snot out of ironheads. Just a fact of life. They were great in the era but most heavy mods would make them less dependable as a daily driver. It comes down to what ever you are willing to deal with. Salty
