Title: New CVO Long Block - Existing tune still good?
Post by: TerryJFT on October 25, 2021, 06:30:35 PM
I purchased a 2015 CVO Road Glide in 2017.  The original owner had done the following:  Fullsac head pipes and baffles + dynotune at Wide Open Cycles.

In July, one of the lifters failed and chewed up the lifter bore in the case.  In "normal" times, I would have taken the opportunity to build the engine.  However, with supply lines what they are today, I didn't want the lack of some part to have the bike down for a long time.  So, I opted to go with a long block from Harley and returned the bike to what it was when I bought it (with new CVO long block).

Should I have any concern with the previous dynotune? (I know every engine is somewhat unique, but figure it should be pretty durn close).

Thanks,
Terry S.

If you used the same injectors, intake, and exhaust, there shouldn't be a noticeable difference.

:agree:  You can also arrange to have it checked on the dyno at Wide Open Cycles and fine tuned if necessary.  It shouldn't be as long and expensive as a full tune and less if it checks out OK.

Pretty sure Wide Open Cycles is no more.

Sadly true.
