Still on the learning curve with the '13 Deluxe I bought a few weeks ago - my first softail. It's a stock 103 and I'm curious what is the "cam of choice" should I leave it stock except for a cam change? Also, if I decide to go to a stage 1 what is the "cam of choice?" It already has noticeably better power than the 88s in my 01 Ultra and 02 RK with Andrews 26Ns. I'll be interested to read your feedback and reasoning. (remember, I'm on the learning curve and no counter steering is allowed). :pop:
Cycle Rama 570-2
Take a look through the dyno section.
The CR570-2 is working very well with the 103 motors.
What PoorUB said, quicker than I.
I have an Andrews 57 and like it. If you change the cams, save some money for a tuner and/or tune because that much change will require a tuner of your choice.

What is your plan to recalibrate the ECM for the change in cam timing & engine breathing?
Andrews 48 seems to be another popular choice for drop-in cams. Pulls good down low...
 Andrews 48 for a stock 103
I have run both the CR570-2 and the Andrews 48. The 570-2 wins my vote, no question! I was not impressed with the 48 at all.
What about them left you unimpressed? How would you compare the noise factor? I like my 48's, but like a lot of others, mine are noisy. Thock thock thock and a little rattle at certain rpms.
Without a professional dyno tune, they all are unimpressive. Andrews 48's.

The 570-2 carries out father than the 48 and stills pulls good torque down low. I suppose if you never wind it up to red line and just cruise around the 48's are fine. I just like to get on it once in a while.
I have two identical 2010 103 baggers. One with the CR 570, and one with an Andrews 48. The Andrews shows up better on a dyno, and feels stronger two up and down low. The CR pulls higher and makes a tad more HP. Riding them I like the 48 better, but they are close.
Andrews TW 57.
Best I've found as far as drop in, and if boredom sets in, they'll work well with some future mods.
John
Happy customers with the 57 and a tune. the 48 in a dyna just feels breathless on a good roll.
mehhh.... Andrews 57 in a stock motor doesn't impress much.

. Why do you try to bust anybody's opinion to put your 2 cents in? Have you personally used this cam? John Sachs has forgotten what you know.

I sure have not. But I can see results that guys get with stock motors. I'm not bustin John at all, I'm giving my opinion which is just that. What John is 100% correct about is the 57's have room to grow. Stock they aren't wonderful in my opinion.
And I wasn't addressing, John so back up.
Not trying to stir by any means. But a lot of people's results using a product isn't posted and or Dyno verified. So I take the poster at his or hers gained reputation. Regards Rick
