Title: trigger rotor bolt frozen
Post by: waltcentral on February 25, 2019, 04:03:26 AM
I am removing the stock ignition  off of a 1983 Shovel, having trouble with the trigger rotor cup bolt.

At this point the head is starting to round out.  The parts manual says 10/32 1/2 inch. The head of the bolt I am looking at is 5/16.  Prior to trying to remove it I have been using penetrating  oil .    I thought of cutting a slot in it and hitting with a impact driver but worried about the cam. Have not tried heat yet.
Bolt seems soft enough (like cheese) so I could drill out but hate the thought about all those metal filings.

Never mind - seems the last shot of PB Blast worked!
