well hell, am officially old.
after 5 months of sitting i fired up buell. crap, only 70 miles later i home.
hurt bad. between the rock hard seat and the riding position, shoulders pinched.
i hurting a lot.
hate to sell it, but not into looking at bikes. i like to ride them.
last year was thinking about it when wrist went away...
sold collection of other bikes a bit ago. thinking i could still maybe ride buell on short stuff.

I fired up my Uly yesterday, seemed to take for ever for the oil light to go out. Rode about 120 miles, my butt was starting to go numb at the end. What model do you have ? I think the Uly probably has the best saddle and that's hard, it also has foot pegs an inch lower than the other XBOX models.

You could try a set of Uly pegs or they sell 2 inch lower on flea bay
not so much the foot positon. i may try 883 sporty bars. a little higher and wider. (hunch back riding)
and that damn seat. i never noticed till i lost 30 pounds and not so much fat protecting ass.
still a fun wheelie machine and blast around town. just setteling in at 70 on 2 lane highway not very confy.
doing 300 miles to mt lemmon today. you better believe i taking fxdx.
kinda wanted to take buell cause of the mt twisties
come to think of it the 10 year old seat on dx getting a little beat down and hard.
guess i should go on a seat quest.
i have a sheet of high density foam i used for kneeler race hydro. it is firm. maybe have my current seats fitted with it instead of reg foam that compresses.
i plan to do as much riding this year as the body will allow. i falling apart and may not have to much longer to ride.

Hell I'm 59 and I have enough of my 96 S2T in about 50 miles.
try a sheepskin on any seat that you have. it almost always works.
Try Rox risers for the shoulder problems, they can be adjusted up and back.

or the XB9S with little shorty bars. but at least they bars.
would be nice a little higher and wider. if could do it with stock cables/wiring would be real plus.
64? That ain't old. I'm older than that and I just got my first Buell, a 1125R. Neck a little sore at first, but it's doing fine now that I'm used to it.

I may not be able to ride Buell when I turn 54 if the front load doesn't stop growing! Even though I eat less now than I did before. Hardly worth paying the price for buffets anymore......
I would love to demo a new EBR. Just not sure I could reach the bars unless it has extremely long rear set pegs so I could sort of lay on it..... :emoGroan:

Myself, early 70's, and John Gregory (the builder & owner of the T.C.Christanson ridden "Hogslayer" double Norton engined fuel bike), 80, have ridden neumorous 300 and 400 mile days on these Buells, in the last few years. :wink:

update from/for us old guys.
well am now 66 and still alive.
lost 75 pounds and feeling pretty good health wise.
riding more lately than I have in last 6-7 years.
ol broke bones still letting me know they ol broke bones.
but I just ride.
hang in there guys.
(note to kids, 50 and younger, retirement aint all bad if you can keep riding)

congrats on the weight loss. I have lost 80 my self, feel much better and it was like putting $1K into the motor! Close to retirement but still liking toys too much!

That's what my 6' 2" son bought, hell I can't even swing a leg over the darn thing, and with help I can kinda tippy-toe holding it up.. :emsad: I hate being short
I know you won't have any problem selling that XB9, while my son was looking the previous 2 he was looking at sold the same week.

a friend that builds the sidewinder V-8 cycles just lent me HOGSLAYER c.d.
watched it last night. very well done and cool. those guys did party..lol.
also did some fantastic things.
I did some Norton work in the 60's. did not find them to be very reliable. the tape sure did change my mind on them.
they were pretty bikes.
I think they stayed non unit is what killed them off when triumph and bsa went unit.
when T.C. blew up a police station....news called it a prank...lol
I betting they don't sell those "chemistry" sets anymore.
these times would be terr attack and in prison forever.
